Yeast infection cream – could it help you?

Having a yeast infection is an uncomfortable and often painful experience; sufferers experience itching that can have a drastic affect on their lives. The yeast is a fungus and the infection occurs when it has been allowed to multiply and spread. It is so small that it can only be seen with a microscope.

A yeast infection cream could help you get rid of it.. There are many ointments and creams available over the counter and from your doctor that can treat the symptoms and take care of the excess fungus. It is important to be careful when deciding on an anti fungal cream; make sure you have consulted with a doctor and or pharmacist that you definitely have a yeast infection.

Symptoms you may observe apart from the itching are possible white patches on the area you believe to be infected. Women can also have a vaginal discharge that has a yeasty smell and a consistency of cottage cheese. They can also find it painful to urinate and have sex. All of these symptoms lead to the probability of vaginal candidiasis, however bacterial infections have similar symptoms and so ideally this needs to be looked at by an expert.

Male symptoms are much the same as female symptoms. There is pain and itching on the penis, pain during intercourse and when urinating. Should these all present themselves a visit to the pharmacy should take care of it, as you can find a cream for the infection. There are many over the counter ointments for yeast infections so if you have self diagnosed whether male or female, try talking to the pharmacist who will have knowledge on what cream would suit you personally. Make sure you read the paper instructions enclosed with the cream so that you apply the cream correctly, hygienically and at the right times.

Yeast infections can be very stubborn and are not so easy to get rid of quickly; if you find after three days that the product which you are using is having no affect – consult your doctor. They may be able to recommend or prescribe a different yeast infection cream. Remember to follow your doctor’s directions in application. For those few for whom these creams do not work it may be worth looking at your diet or other reasons for why your infection is so persistent, such as clothing and hygiene.
