It is important for a woman to know the main causes of a yeast infection. By being well informed a woman can better decide on a treatment and can prevent it. Many women have recurring yeast infections because they are only treating symptoms and are not educating themselves about cause. So in order to avoid the embarressment of having a yeast infection check out this article.

A yeast infection happens because the fungus Candida albicans grow out of control. Usually these micro organisms are in our bodies but are not a health issue because they are controlled by good bacteria. When something affects our immune system and our good bacteria, the fungus has a chance to grow and spread into an infection. It can affect various parts of the body as it loves warm, damp and dark environments. The most common area it affects is the vagina which is why it is viewed as a female problem, but it can affect men and children too. It can grow on the penis, in the gut, under folds of skin and in the mouth (Thrush).

There are some drugs to avoid as they can cause a yeast infection. Birth control pills can affect the hormonal balance as can steroids. Antibiotics are very much to blame for many people’s infections as they kill good bacteria as well as the bad, which means the fungus is not being kept under control.

It is possible to get a yeast infection from unprotected sex. If the woman has a vaginal yeast infection she can pass it on to the man and he can get it on his penis and vicer versa. Should you be infected either abstain until you are clear or practice safe sex and wear a condom. Do be careful when choosing your condoms though as there are spermicides that can cause infection as they mess up the pH balance.

Avoid douching. Doctors are quite anti douching nowadays for good reasons and there is no need for it as the vagina is self cleaning. Douching also affects the pH of the vagina leading to yeast infection.

Finally make wise clothing choices both in material and how they fit. Tight fitting clothing allows the area to get warm and damp as does synthetic materials. Loose clothing allows air to circulate and wear breathable materials such as cotton or bamboo.

The most common symptom men suffer from when they have a yeast infection is problems with digestion. Most of the other symptoms are linked to digestive problems; bad breath, bloating, constipation, gas, diarrhea, indigestion. Other symptoms include inability to perform sexually, irritability, tiredness, mood swings, poor memory, dry itchy flaky skin, athlete feet, jock itch and prostate problems.

Most people’s diets include a lot of pasta, chips, sweet foods, beer – all of which are helping the yeast grow and are in fact part of the reason why men are getting yeast infections. In order to find out whether you have a yeast infection there is an easy test you can do at home. When you wake up in the early morning spit twice into a glass of water (have it next to your bed so you can do it straight away). After fifteen minutes look at the glass and see whether the spit has dissolved and disappeared. If it is gone you do not have a yeast infection.

If however, the spit has gotten cloudy, it is at the bottom of the glass and there are strings coming out of it almost weblike, this means you are likely infected with a yeast infection. If there is a residue in the bottom of the glass after thirty minutes this may mean you have parasites and therefore quick treatment is important.

To cure yourself of a yeast infection you need to do several things. Really control how much sugar is in your diet as sugar is a food for the yeast therefore helping it grow. Also try to avoid yeast foods, soy, tuna, shellfish, dairy, aspartane, swordfish, fructose, splenda and trans-fats. Eat more white meat like chicken and lots of vegetables. Cut down on red meats like beef.
Drink lots of water every day preferably chlorine and flouride free. For a direct treatment look to drinking vinegar solutions as vinegar is a very effective natural cure for fungal and yeast infections.

Many sufferers of skin yeast infections are becoming disatisfied with the creams that are available to treat the infection and are looking for actual cures. A lot of people suffer from this infection and though it is usually thought of as a female problem it really does not care about gender. Men and children can also get the infection.

Skin yeast infection is sometimes known as Intertrigo and it happens when there is too much of the bacteria Candida Albicans in your body. It is a bacteria that lives normally on you and usually causes no harm unless it is able to overgrow. The overgrowth can happen when good bacteria that normally control its growth are not present or when favourable conditions present themselves all leading to a yeast infection.

There are several causes of yeast infections and it happens in parts of the body where it is warm, moist and dark for example armpits, under breasts, groin, or folds of skin or fat. In such environments the yeast flourishes. Other factors are the weather i.e if it is hot and humid, wearing tight synthetic clothing, poor hygiene, or even if it is where you have an inflammatory skin disease. Antibiotics can lead to an infection because they kill good and bad bacteria and steroid cream can also help its growth.

The treatment you choose is really up to you and what suits you, there are several choices available including natural, prescripted and over the counter. Miconazole is a cream that can be used to treat the symptoms but to prevent further outbreaks make lifestyle changes. Look at your diet, wear soft clothing that is loose and made of natural materials. Wash properly and dry thoroughly and try using an antifungal powder on the infected area each day.

If you would rather have a look for a natural remedy to treat your skin yeast infection you might want to try tee tree oil as a few drops onto the infected region which will work as an astringent. There are many home treatments to choose from if that does not help you, including yogurt and garlic, so find what works for you. Just remember you need to do more than treat the symtpoms or the infection will return.

Women are more likely to get a yeast infection than men, but men can still get them and the symptoms and causes tend to be very similar. In men because they are more likely to be beer drinkers this can help a male yeast infection thrive as does eating lots of sweet snacks. Once you understand what a yeast infection is and clear yourself of any misconceptions and old wive tales you will be able to avoid the infection and make the changes in your lifestyle if they are needed.

Men do not always immediately recognise that they have a yeast infection, it is only when their health worsens that they suspect something is wrong. If the urethra is affected by a yeast infection this can be nasty as it can damage the man’s sexual function. This is a big clue to men that there is a problem.

Common male yeast infection symptoms are smelly breath, indigestion, constipation, bloatedness, gas, diarrhea and very loose stools. As mentioned before not being able to function during sex is also a sign, as well as pain during sex. There can be itching, a rash along the penis, sometimes white or yellow discharge from the tip and redness.

If the male yeast infection is affecting the penis there is a treatment called Lotrimin that can be purchased at the pharmacy over the counter. Gentian Violet is another treatment that is safe and natural. Aceium is also a good option to treat the infection with. A recommened herbal product is Nutribiotic Liquid Grapefruit See Extract. Other natural remedies that work for women would also work for men including yogurt, tea tree oil, garlic and white vinegar. There are plenty of treatments you can choose from which is a relief I am sure since the infection is very unpleasant to suffer from.

A final piece of advice is checking your diet. As mentioned before cut out sugar and beer, but also cut down on carbohydrates, processed and refined foods. Eat more vegetables and find ways to destress. Wear natural fibred clothing and keep it loose. Drink lots of water to help clean and flush out your system.

Yeast infections are a fungal infection caused by Candida Albicans and appear in warm, damp and dark areas of the body such as the mouth, vagina, intestines and navel. They are not life threatening normally, unless it is an extreme case but they should not be ignored and left too long untreated. If that happens they can get worse and other health complications can arise. So for that reason it is important to be able to recognise whether you have a yeast infection or not.

The fungus Candida Albicans is on the body normally in small numbers and you do not notice it because at those numbers it is not a problem. But conditions can change which causes it to grow and then a yeast infection happens. This can be from hormonal changes, prolonged use of antibiotics, illnesses like HIV or Diabetes.

Symptoms depend on where on the body the infection is and can vary from person to person. Vaginal infections come with itching especially near the vulva, a thick white or yellow discharge almost like cottage cheese, a starchy or yeast smell, swelling, redness of the vulva and pain during sex and urinating.

Sometimes particularly because of the pain when peeing symptom, women think thay have a urinary tract infection and so the wrong treatment is taken. But you can tell the difference if you know what to look for. If the burning pain is when the urine touches the vulva then it is a yeast infection. If the pain is as the urine comes down the tube then that is more likely a urinary tract infection.

If you find your yeast infection symptoms also come with pelvic pains and a temperature then you really must seek out medical help straight away as this means the problem is becoming serious. It is also good to ask a doctor in case you are not sure about your symptoms because incorrect self treating can cause other health problems.

Yeast infections are immediately attached to women as the vaginal yeast infection is probably the most common of them all. However it is a fact that yeast infections have no care about your gender or indeed age. It can also affect any part of the body. This yeast is always in our bodies and it is when it over grows that it becomes an infection. Usually good bacteria keep it under control along with a strong immune system, but if these are lowered then they grow. When the symptoms are minor people think they may just have a rash, especially men; they do not think a yeast infection can affect them.

The symptoms are easy to identify once you have educated yourself. It is important to diagnose as soon as you can as an early treatment can mean an easy and quick recovery. Symptoms of a yeast infection are:

•	White spots in the mouth or on the tongue. This is a sign of Thrush, the mouth yeast infection and is common in babies whos bottles are not being sterilized correctly.

•	A clear or white or yellowish discharge.

•	A rash that is well defined.

•	The rash may have white spots on it.

These symptoms are common on any type of yeast infection anywhere on the body. As long as there is a dark, damp and warm area that is an environment the yeast will love to grow in. Between the toes is known as athletes feet, under the breasts, for over weight people in the skin folds, under breasts, between thighs, as well as the more common mouth and genital areas. The area becomes tender, hot and itchy and simple rash ointments will not help.

With this information you should be able to self diagnose whether you have a yeast infection and begin treating yourself quicker. An important last piece of advice is to check your diet and lifestyle so that your immune system is as strong as it can be and clean and dry properly.

It is true, men can get yeast infections too, it is not just a female problem. It can happen when you have sex with soemone who is already infected, though it is not officially classed as a sexually transmitted disease. In order to recognise whether you are suffering from a yeast infection look for itching on the head of the penis, a red maybe flaky rash, occasionally little blisters down the shaft and possibly a sometimes lumpy, white discharge that comes from the tip. You may also experience burning after you urinate and after intercourse.

It is important that you know yeast infections can multiply and spread very fast. Another type of yeast infection men can commonly suffer from is known as jock itch. This one usually centers around the testicles and then spreads back to the anus. The rash with it can be red or dark brown and raised and there can be a whiteness around folded skin areas. It also itches and burns and like all yeast infections happens due to the environment being moist and hot.

If you are one of the unfortunates that are having reoccurred a yeast infection, whether athletes foot, jock itch, yeast infection in the penis, or nail infection it may be due to a problem with Candida. This is the fungus that multiplies and becomes the infection. It can lead to depression, tiredness, headaches, memory problems, breathing problems, skin rashes, and even impotency. Avoid eating high amounts of sugar and carbohydrates as these feed the yeast and help it grow. Try to avoid stress and taking antibiotics or steroids over a long time as these affect the immune systems ability to do its job and antibiotics kill good bacteria that fight the infection.

As well as making these changes you can also try anti fungal supplements, bring in more good bacteria into your body with supplements and foods. There are also anti fungal remedies from your local pharmacy. Remember to try wearing loose clothing that is made of cotton or other breathable materials that lets air get to the skin. Finally have a very strict hygiene routine that washes and very importantly dries thoroughly.

Though anyone can get a yeast infection it is more common in women and the area usually affected is the vagina. There is bacteria and yeast in the vagina all the time but for reasons looked at below sometimes the yeast outgrows the bacteria and becomes an infection. It is called Candida Albicans and the causes of yeast infection symptoms such as swelling, a thick or cottage cheese like discharge, irritation and itching.

There are several things that can cause this to happen and they include:

Drugs – Certain medications, in particular antibiotics, are designed to kill bacteria but they do not differentiate good bacteria from bad. Therefore the useful bacteria that works for us by controlling pH balance and keeping an acidic environment which the yeast do not like, are gone. The pH changes and an environment is created in which the yeast are no longer kept under control allowing the yeast to grow. Antibiotics are one of the main causes of yeast infections.

HRT – Hormone replacement therapy is used for menopausal symptoms but messing with the body’s chemical balance can lead to yeast infections.

Pregnancy – Another time when your body’s chemical balance is upset.
Immune system – If your immune system is weak due to another illness like HIV, or weak from a poor diet or other reasons such as medication you are also more at risk from yeast infections.

Weather – The ideal environment for a yeast infection is warm and damp, so if the weather is humid the yeast can thrive.

Clothing – Tight and synthetic clothing can lead to sweating and this creates the warm and damp conditions the yeast loves.

Diabetes – If you have a raised blood sugar level you are more prone as yeast eats sugar.

Products – Perfumes, soaps, bath salts and oils, scented pads, laundry detergents and softeners can all upset the balance between the bacteria and the yeast. There is also a spermicide nonoxynol-9 that does too.

Damage – If there is damage to the vaginal tissue, for example from chemotherapy, you are more at risk of yeast infections. If you have been made bed ridden or are in a wheelchair this means the area is always warm and damp.

The best yeast infection treatment must treat the root of the problem as well as the symptoms. This is not medications over the counter or prescripted, as they do not offer a permanent solution. They treat only the symptoms and ignore the reason behind the infection. All you need to do to get rid of the infections for good is look at your lifestyle and make some changes.

For example your diet may have to change. As the fungus that causes yeast infections (Candida Albicans) feeds on sugar, your diet needs to become as sugar free as possible. It does not make sense to treat the symptoms of an infection but to go on feeding it its primary food source so that it can grow and spread! No more sodas, chocolate, candy, cookies or cakes, or at least make sure they are rare treats not everyday foods in your diet. Alcohol is another offender as it is a fermented produced and coffee also needs to be cut out, as well as white and wheat flour. It may be hard at first adjusting your eating habits around this but it is worth it, trust me.

Another thing that may need to be altered is the environment you may be providing the yeast infection. It thrives in warm and damp places. Therefore wear baggy clothing that allows air to circulate, avoid clothing like panty hose. Wear cotton underwear as cotton allows the skin to breathe, when you can do not wear underwear at all! Try wearing skirts if the weather permits again so that air can get in.

Keep a good hygiene routine that involves thorough drying. Avoid scented and perfumed products like soaps, lotions, tampons, pads and detergents. Use environmentally friendly natural products, good for you and good for the earth.

In order to clear the root problem of your yeast infection it is important you make these lifestyle changes. Use medications, over the counter treatments, even natural remedies without making these changes and you may find the infection still comes back. You should choose yourself the best yeast infection treatment.

The cause of vaginal yeast infections is a fungus known as Candida Albicans, which lives on the skin and in the vagina in all women, not just yeast infection sufferers. When conditions are made right for it, warm and damp, or the pH changes in its favor, the fungus grows. Though yeast infections may not be a serious condition they are very uncomfortable and embarrassing for women. Some even feel reluctant to visit their doctor and would rather use natural remedies at home. Therefore here are some effective treatments you may wish to try that are both oral and vaginal insertions that do not require a gynecologist.

How to cure a yeast infection:
1.	Yogurt is thought of by many as the best natural treatment there is for yeast infections. Use the good bacteria kind and make sure it is sugar free as sugar feeds the fungus and lets it grow more. Eat it and apply it on the infected area. Buttermilk also works this way.
2.	Another popular and effective method is with garlic. Garlic has antifungal properties and can be eaten or turned into a paste and rubbed onto the infection. There may be a an initial burning feeling but it will pass. It can also be used as a suppository – wrap a clove in some gauze and insert it for twenty minutes.
3.	Honey spread directly onto the infection also works and then rinse after fifteen to twenty minutes.
4.	A few drops of tea tree oil onto a tampon and then insert it up the vagina for a week twice daily. Like garlic it has antifungal properties.
5.	Some vinegar mixed into bath water and then soak in it. It has antibacterial and anti fungal components.

Some lifestyle changes and how to cure a yeast infection.
1.	Avoid synthetic clothing – cotton is best as it allows the skin to breathe.
2.	Avoid tight clothing particularly underwear like pantyhose.
3.	Keep the vagina clean and dry.
4.	Avoid perfumed products for that area such as tampons, condoms, clothes detergent, body wash.

If you are seeking some help on how to recognize main symptoms of a yeast infection, this is the place to be. Though there are quite a few symptoms this article will look at four of the main ones. Sadly 90 per cent of women can or have suffered from illnesses related to Candida so you are surely not alone. It is just that most sufferers are not aware there is a connection between their symptom and Candida or Chronic yeast infections.

Four of the common symptoms of a yeast infection:
1. Health Issues – Mental and Emotional
This can take on a number of appearances/feelings varying greatly from each person. A lot of people have said that once they have had their Candida problem resolved permanently they have felt so much better in their general happiness and well being, less tense and stressed. The depression lifts or the brain fog has cleared and everything is clear again.

2. Breathing
It has been found that there are links between Candida and respiratory ailments like asthma or chronic congestion. Candida affects the immune system so its impact is broad and includes your respiration.

3. Skin
There are several skin conditions that are affected by Candida, a few include hives, acne, eczema, psoriasis and rashes. There are ointments and supplements to help with these skin symptoms of a yeast infection but if you get rid of the Candida you will be amazed at the direct impact on those skin problems.

4. Digestion
When a person visits their doctor complaining of digestive problems, the diagnosis is quite often IBS. But Candida is also having an effect here. It causes your body to have some inflammation from the by products it creates. Acetaldehyde is one of these by products and can cause a lot of problems unless the Candida is taken care of. For example one thing that this Acetaldehyde can cause is an over night food allergy!
With more awareness of the symptoms and why they are happening you are better able to see why taking steps to bring your body back into balance and eradicate the excess candida is so important to your over all health.

Sometimes it can be valuable to see visual aids when trying to determine if you have an illness. However that is not so with yeast infections. Many of the symptoms in fact cannot be photographed so rather than searching for pictures that may cause you to misdiagnose yourself or overly worry you, have a quick look here for the six most common symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection. I have done them in order of most common symptom.
Oral yeast infection picture

1.	All women complain of itching when they have a vaginal yeast infection. The itching can be mild going all the way to extreme, making it difficult for sufferers to leave their homes sometimes.
2.	As a result of the itching there is often redness and the area around the vulva can be swollen and generally irritated.
3.	There is pain when you urinate and during sex. The pain from urinating is when the urine touches the irritated vagina.
4.	A burning sensation that is comparable to sunburn but of the vulva and inside the cavity of the vagina.
5.	There can be a discharge which can vary slightly in color and consistency from woman to woman. It can be white to yellowy and ranges from thick, to lumpy like cottage cheese to watery. A few report it more brown like.
6.	If there is discharge there is sometimes an odor that smells yeasty like bread or fermented drinks such as beer. Should you have an extremely unpleasant smell or a fishy odor this is not a yeast infection. It could be bacterial or something else enitrely. Seek your doctor’s opinion.Oral yeast infection picture

As you can see many of these symptoms could not be shown clearly in pictures. Now that you know what to look for, if you are suffering from any or even all of these it is important to treat it as soon as possible. The longer you leave it the worse it will get and the harder to treat. There are many effective natural options you can research that will help you take care of you problem rather than wasting time looking for pictures that will not help.

Although women do have the largest incidence of yeast infections (occurring in the vaginal area) men and children can also get them. It is important to be sure about your condition so that you do not mistreat yourself, possibly making the problem worse or leading to future health issues. Sometimes women think they have a yeast infection but their symptoms are for something else. If you are not certain, make sure you visit your doctor for a professional diagnosis. Below I outline the common yeast infection symptoms to better help you identify if that is what you have.

Of all the symptoms of yeast infection, all sufferers complain of itching first. The itching can be slight to really insufferable and it can lead the vagina to become red and swollen from the scratching. There can be pain when having sex and when going to the bathroom.

About one fifth of sufferers experience vaginal discharge that can be white to yellowy and of a thick consistency, or cottage cheese like or even watery. Some women report that this discharge has an odor that is yeasty, almost like bread or beer. Should you be experiencing a really unpleasant odor seek medical advice as soon as you can, as this is not a sign of a yeast infection and could be something else.

The pain when urinating can make some people think they have a urinary tract infection. However these two pains are different. The pain from urinating with a yeast infection is when the urine touches the irritated and swollen vagina. Urinary tract infection pain happens as the urine comes down the urethra before it’s out. These little differences are why you need to make sure you are very clear about the specific symptoms of a yeast infection in case a doctors expertise is needed.

It is very important that if you do have an infection you know that yeast infections can be passed on during sexual intercourse. Make sure you practice safe sex, use a condom while you have the infection until you are completely clear. You can pass the infection to men and they can then pass it back. Yeast infections in men affect the penis causing itching and burning on the head, sometimes with a red rash.

Now that you know about the symptoms of yeast infection and how to deal with it, you should get started. Should you need more info, don’t hesitate to browse our blog.

Skin yeast infections are surprisingly common amongst people today. It’s caused by a fungus that is in our bodies but given the right environment grows more than it should and spreads across the body. This leads to your skin’s natural condition becoming imbalanced thus becoming an infection. In fact seventy percent or more of all people, men, women and children will face a Candida yeast infection sooner or later. Note that Thrush is a yeast infection of the mouth. The other common area that can become infected is the genital area.

The cause of this infection can be any of a number of things, or a combination of them. Birth control pills cause an imbalance of hormones for women, antibiotics can kill the good bacteria that fight the yeast, poor diet with too much sugar that feeds the fungus are all examples of causes. Symptoms can be extremely frustrating and can have drastic effects on sufferers ranging from a severe itching, rashes, swelling, redness, and an odor that has a yeasty smell. Some even have a symptom where their skin starts looking like elephant skin. However some of these symptoms can be explained by other illnesses so before treating it with yeast infection remedies. Do seek medical advice by visiting your doctor for a professional opinion or a clinic.

Prevention of a skin yeast infection involves taking several steps. Wear clothes that are not skin tight, loose fitting clothes allow air to get to your skin and lets it breathe. Babies must be changed regularly and kept clean and dry all over but particularly in the diaper area. There is anti-fungal powder that can also be used every day to prevent the fungus’ growth.

If the prevention tactics outlines above are too late and you already have an infection, the best thing to do if you are looking for a treatment that has no side effects, is to use natural remedies. There are drugs and over the counter treatments but they are more expensive and have side effects. The natural remedies that work help with the symptoms and deal with the cause of the skin yeast infection and they are easy to find!

A yeast infection of the mouth is known as oral yeast infection or Thrush. It is quite a common infection for men and teenagers. It is quite simple to treat with medications as long as its cause is not a chronic yeast infection, which is more stubborn! The mouth is the second most common area to get an infection after the genital area. These places have lots of bacteria that are in a delicate balance. Yeast infections can multiply very quickly. When in the mouth Thrush tends to cause pain, particularly when eating, and has white areas in the mouth with red sores.

The fungi that leads to yeast infections and Thrush is in our bodies all the time for most people. It becomes a problem only when its environment is changed and conditions allow it to grow and spread. Things that can cause this are taking antibiotics, an unhealthy diet that contains too much sugar and carbohydrates and yeasty foods. This is because sugars are a food for the yeast.

Antibiotics can lead to an oral yeast infection, because antibiotics kill bacteria. Unfortunately they do not know which is good bacteria and which is bad, so they kill them both. Great for whatever illness you are taking them for, but bad for your immune system as it was the good bacteria that were keeping the fungi in balance. With them gone the fungi spread and a yeast infection is far more likely.

As with other forms of yeast infections Thrush is easy to get particularly if you have unprotected oral sex, which sadly is why it is common amongst teens. Safe sex is always important. Infantscan get it from sucking their fists, children from biting their nails, babies can get it from not sterilizing bottles correctly.
How do you deal with it? Probiotics. These are found in some yogurts, so eat sugar free, fruit free probiotic yogurt daily. There are other equally worthwhile treatments such as honey or apple cider vinegar which are worth researching and trying alongside the yogurt.

There are many natural remedies out there that are effective for treating symptoms as well as the infection itself but perhaps one of the cheapest, easiest and most effective is plain old yogurt!

Both men and women have used this remedy and have found that the yogurt has a wonderful soothing action when applied to the infected area. It cools down the burning sensation and calms the itching symptom. It reduces the pain and discomfort and the good bacteria in it fights the male yeast infection itself. This means there is no need for antibiotics, which are bad for yeast infections anyway as they lower your body’s ability to fight the yeast infection because they kill all bacteria, good and bad.

First of all make sure it is natural, plain yogurt, no added fruit and especially no added sugar, as sugar is a food for the yeast infection helping it grow. It is a good idea to put the yogurt on a small section of skin before using it on the infection itself just in case you are one of the few that have poor reactions to such methods. This is a good idea for any treatment you may decide to try for yeast infections or indeed any home remedy. It is important to check first that you do not have an allergy to the product.

It is also advisable to discuss your symptoms with your doctor as they may have suggestions or advice about home remedies for male yeast infections which may influence which ones you use if any. To use the yogurt you can either eat it daily or you can apply it directly to the infected area using some cotton pads or something that is hygienic. You can of course do both!

It is vital that women be knowledgeable about the real yeast infections signs, as many misdiagnose themselves when they actually have something else. If they make the mistake of taking antibiotics this can cause them further problems with yeast infections in the future. Here are some of the more well known signs of a yeast infection, though there are plenty of others.

Smell and Vaginal discharge
There is often a discharge when a woman has a yeast infection, that is usually a faint yellow to a clear color. Along with the discharge there is sometimes a smell which some have said is much like beer or bread i.e. it smells yeasty. Others have said it smells of starch or there may even be no smell at all. The discharge has different consistencies from thick, like cottage cheese, to watery. Remember not every yeast infection symptom is the same for all women. If there is a discharge there will be a smell that is out of the ordinary. Know your body when it is healthy so that you recognize changes when they happen rather than waiting too long to do something.

Itchiness
Itchiness is the most common symptom of yeast infections and if there is no discharge there would be this. The itching can become very severe and there is also a burning feeling which are both around the vagina and vulva. Around the vulva can be swollen and red. The itching can even get to the point where it is difficult to move around and becomes painful. This can be dehabilitating and very uncomfortable for the sufferer.

Soreness
The whole area of the vagina may feel sore and pain can sometimes occur when you are having sex or urinating. This happens because the acid in the urine touches the irritated skin outside.
These are the most common symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection. Should you experience any of them consult your doctor straight away. Though there are over the counter options it is always safer to seek professional help.

These are some of the most common yeast infection signs that you should be aware of. However, self-diagnosis is not very recommended; before drawing a conclusion, you should always consult a specialist.

Yeast infections are very common; in fact a surprisingly high statistic of 60% of women regularly suffer from vaginal yeast infections. It is caused by a fungus called Candida albicans. These do not just spread in the genital area, they thrive in moist dark areas so the mouth is also a commonly infected place. It is important that should you be showing symptoms of a yeast infection that you seek out medical help straight away or consider natural therapy. Do not allow the infection to go untreated. If you are not aware of what the symptoms look like here are some pointers.

Itching and Burning
This is one of the most common symptoms of a yeast infection, from a little itching to a lot, accompanied by a burning. This happens anywhere in the vagina or vulva and is a very clear sign of the infection. Any kind of itching or pain that is regular should get you to seek some form of treatment whether over the counter, prescribed or natural. If you are in great discomfort all the time, try a natural treatment while you make an emergency appointment with your doctor.

Vaginal discharge
If you notice that you are getting a white or yellow discharge from the vagina this is also a yeast infection symptom. Though the texture can vary from woman to woman from runny to lumpy it is the color to watch out for.

Smell
This symptom is not common to all yeast infections but it is one to be aware of. The smell is of yeast, as in beer or bread. If this smell is coming from your vagina, or indeed any abnormal odor then it may be a yeast infection.

Though these are three of the more common symptoms there are many more and not all women will experience the same yeast infection symptoms. Make sure you listen to your body; you know when something is amiss. If some or all of these symptoms should occur it is probable that you have developed a yeast infection and should therefore go and see your doctor.

In order to treat skin yeast infections which are an infection of the skin, it is important to understand why we get them. The most common yeast in our bodies is Candida. Living on the surface of our body Candid Albicans are usually prevented from spreading and becoming a yeast infection by bacteria. However, sometimes there are moments when our bodies become out of balance and the bacteria are not there to do their job, and so the yeast multiplies and the fungus turns infectious. The good news is that this can be treated naturally.

There are both preventatives and cures that can be tried at home using natural remedies if you are showing symptoms. Though from person to person these can change a little, the common signs are painful intercourse, depression, vaginal itching, pains in the genital area and even memory issues. Natural remedies are very effective and treat your symptoms as well as the root problem, where as many over the counter options do not. After all, natural cures do not make the drug companies money and so it is better business to push drugs and medications rather than natural treatments.

There are many healing properties in honey, and in this case the raw kind has good bacteria. Remember the infection started because the good bacteria in your body is out of balance. The honey’s bacteria just gives yours a boost. Spread it on the infection, a good amount, and then leave it for eight to ten minutes. Then rinse with a soap that is non-medicated.

The skin yeast infection can cause bruises and a rash. To treat these symptoms rub organic coconut oil on just like you would an ointment or cream. This also help rebalance the bacteria and yeast. It is worth noting that this can also be used to rub onto the penis as well as the vagina, as the yeast can be transferred to both genders during intercourse.

Apple cider vinegar has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal agents and is therefore an excellent natural remedy to treat yeast infections with. Simply add it into your bath and let yourself relax in it. You will find you have a sweet apple scent after!
