On and in our bodies is a micro organism called Candida Albicans and usually it acts in a way that is helpful to our body, keeping it functioning well. But a poor diet that includes a lot of processed and refined foods can make it more likely that these micro organisms will overgrow and become a yeast infection.

If you are having problems with yeast infections and are finding the treatments you are using are not stopping it from recurring it would probably be of great benifit to you to adopt an anti candida diet.

By changing your diet you can prevent getting an infection because the environment that kind of food creates is what the bacteria Candida Albicans thrives in. This diet involves cutting out certain foods altogether and cutting down a lot on others.

Sugars are your enemy and it is vital that if you are going to make any dietary changes that is one you target first. Sugar is yeast food so it helps it grow basically. Avoid sugars and remember it is not just cakes and cookies you need to look out for. Refined sugars are in all kinds of foods like processed and fast foods as a preservative. Learn to read labels and eat fast food as a rare treat not as a daily or weekly menu.

Starch is another thing you need to cut down on so foods like bread and potatoes and pastas. Starch raises sugar levels in the body which the candida albicans then have a banquet on! Also when you do eat these products don’t eat the white refined kind, eat wholewheat pasta and bread.

Avoid vinegar particularly white vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is of course a treatment you can use to treat the symptoms you are suffering from, but avoid any others. This is for the same reason as starch in that it raises sugar levels in the body.
It would also be beneficial to eat lots of vegetables, and drink lots of water to help clear out your system.

There are so many women that have suffered from yeast infections or that are going to at some point, and yet drug companies still have not produced treatments that work on the root problem as well as the symptoms. Having a yeast infection is extremely embarrassing and very unpleasant. Suffering with the itching, the soreness, the swelling and sometimes an odor makes you want a cure that is as quick as possible. Women are tired of being depressed over this illness. But more are becoming aware of some easy and quick home remedies that can at least take care of the symptoms cheaper and quicker while you work on the root cause by looking at your lifestyle and diet. Below are those three easy and quick treatments that have been tried and tested by experienced women.

Garlic is known to have many healing properties and these also work on yeast infections. It has anti fungal aspects that fight the infection. Peel a clove and rub it over the infected area, leave overnight then wash in the morning with warm water and dry carefully. Alternatively wrap a peeled clove and insert it. Of course eating plenty in your diet helps too. Smelly but it works, I promise!

Yogurt is wonderful because it soothes the symptoms as it takes care of them. Use a plain bio yogurt (with live bacteria) apply it directly and leave for a couple of hours then wash with warm water and dry by patting. Alternatively you can dip a tampon in it and insert it into the vagina. Again this can be eaten as well. Very importantly avoid yogurts with added sugar as this nourishes the yeast.

Aloe vera, often used for burning symptoms, also soothes the itching and swelling. Using your fingers smear it over the affected area.

Depending on how bad your yeast infection is depends on how well these treatments will work. The more severe your symptoms the less effective they will be and remember they are not a permanent solution.

The Yeast Infection No More program will help sufferers all over the world become yeast infection free for good. Those that use these steps find not only do they clear their yeast infection up and the symptoms, they also find the headaches go, they can focus more clearly, they feel more alive and have more joy and enthusiasm for their lives. Mild to severe cases of yeast infection, this will take care of them all and bust that Candida.

Over the last few years the over the counter treatment industry for yeast infections has become a billion dollar one. However despite people spending their hard earned money on them, these products just do not work the way they claim to. Whether it is the gels, the ointments, the creams or the suppositories their aim after all is to make money – they want your yeast infection to keep coming back so that you keep buying their product. In actual fact some of these products can make things worse, messing with the body’s chemical balance. Or they treat the yeast infection symptoms but nothing else, and become less and less effective at doing even that, as the yeast infection becomes resistant to them.

Yeast Infection No More does not make promises it cannot keep. In fact it guarantees the results you are looking for. You do not have to try out several remedies looking for one that will work for you, as the step by step advice in this system will take care of it for you. It will help you become healthier overall, will save you money and time and energy.

Unlike other remedies on the market, Yeast Infection No Moore is permanent, it is safe for your body and is natural. It is simple to follow, written so that everyone can use it, not in medical jargon. An added bonus is that it also offers users support and private counseling free of charge!

Vaginal yeast infections are an extremely unpleasant experience to go through for women. It affects any woman, age and sexual activity have nothing to do with it. Many believe it to be a sex related infection but it is not. Though it can be passed on through sexual intercourse, sex does not cause it. In fact well over three quarters of us will have to deal with it at some point. Symptoms can vary from woman to woman but generally include itching, swelling, redness, soreness, pain during sex and after urinating and an unpleasant discharge. However it can be prevented once you understand what it is and why it happens.

Now that you know it is not caused by sexual acts if your young daughter has it and you were concerned that she had become sexually active or been abused somehow you can rest at ease. In fact all of us have the bacteria present in us that can lead to an infection. However it is normally held dormant by good bacteria in the body so that it is not allowed to grow and spread into a yeast infection. A yeast infection happens when your immune system is lowered or those good bacteria have been affected or an environment is created that the yeast thrives in.
It is therefore important to take a few steps to help prevent an infection from happening. Wiping yourself in the correct manner front to back helps because it means any bacteria in the anus can not come to the vagina.
When you go swimming, or sit in a hot tub or any other wet activity, it is important to change out of those wet clothes straight away. The yeast loves warm and wet conditions so you need to get clean and dry as soon as you can. This means that the holiday ritual of jumping in the sea or pool, then getting out and sunning for a while, then jumping in again to cool off etc is a very bad idea if you are worried about yeast infections.

There are various foods that are really good to make sure they are in your diet if you want to prevent a yeast infection. A good, healthy balanced diet is very important and plays a key role in treating and preventing yeast infections. Being able to maintain the diet can be hard at times, we all have to deal with temptation, but sticking to it can mean years of symptom free relief rather than facing the prospect of reoccurring infections.

Yogurt – Yogurt can be applied to the infected area as a treatment but can also be eaten regularly as part of a healthy diet. It is important you get the right kind of yogurt, it has to be probiotic, sugar and fruit free as sugar feeds the yeast and actually helps it grow. It works because of the good bacteria in it which fight the Candida microorganisms.

Garlic – Has fantastic anti-fungal properties. Eating some cloves of fresh garlic a day will help your immune system and fight the fungus.

Carrots – These are also anti-fungal. The bonus to these is that they are easy to get and are cheap.
Seaweed – This has iodine in it and helps prevent an infection.

Apple cider vinegar – Helps rebalance inside the intestinal tract boosting the immune system and stops bad bacteria growing in the bowel.

Generally your diet should include plenty of fruit and vegetables, chicken, nuts, honey, eggs and beef. There are foods you should cut out of your diet too. Though they do not necessarily lead to an infection they help one that already exists to develop by feeding it. These include dairy products including cheese. Avoid foods with yeast in them such as bread, mushrooms and beer. Sugar feeds yeast infections so cut back on cookies, cakes and so on. Also stop eating processed foods and foods that use white flour.

By taking control of your diet you are making the environment inside your body less hospitable to a yeast infection and you are cutting off its food supply. Also try making other lifestyle changes such as limiting caffeine and alcohol, get a good hygienic routine going, avoid stress and sleep well.

Pregnancy has many wonderful aspects…and some not so wonderful! One of the not so wonderful is the fact that being pregnant means you have hormonal changes and this can make you more open to a yeast infection. The hormone changes causes an imbalance in your body’s chemicals and this can lead to the Candida Albicans bacteria, that normally live in dark and wet areas such as the vagina, mouth and armpits, being able to grow and multiply until it is a yeast infection. This article debate the yeast infection and pregnancy.

In a normal healthy woman that is not expecting, the Candida Albicans live in the vagina in small numbers, kept under control by good bacteria. But all those bouncing hormones when pregnant allows the fungus to grow and the good bacteria are unable to control them. Also during pregnancy women sometimes find their immune systems are weakened so that the fetus is not attacked as it grows in your womb. All of your body is working towards feeding and nurturing the baby until a successful delivery and so that leaves you vulnerable to things like yeast infections.

Do remember that once you have a yeast infection you can pass it to your sexual partner and then even if you treat it, if he or she does not you can get it back off them. Make sure both of you get treated and practice safe sex; even though you are already pregnant there is still the problem of passing that infection back and forth.

When looking for a treatment it is very important that you talk to your doctor. You do not want to endanger your baby and some treatments may be fine for when you are not pregnant but may put the baby at risk when you are. It could affect the development of the child or cause premature labor. Even if it is a natural remedy discuss it with a professional first.

After the baby is born another factor to consider is whether you are breast feeding as this causes chemical imbalances too. Try to keep a healthy lifestyle and watch your diet for foods like sugar and yeast products as these feed the yeast infection. Be aware because yeast infection and pregnancy is not a toy to play with.

Though anyone can get a yeast infection it is more common in women and the area usually affected is the vagina. There is bacteria and yeast in the vagina all the time but for reasons looked at below sometimes the yeast outgrows the bacteria and becomes an infection. It is called Candida Albicans and the causes of yeast infection symptoms such as swelling, a thick or cottage cheese like discharge, irritation and itching.

There are several things that can cause this to happen and they include:

Drugs – Certain medications, in particular antibiotics, are designed to kill bacteria but they do not differentiate good bacteria from bad. Therefore the useful bacteria that works for us by controlling pH balance and keeping an acidic environment which the yeast do not like, are gone. The pH changes and an environment is created in which the yeast are no longer kept under control allowing the yeast to grow. Antibiotics are one of the main causes of yeast infections.

HRT – Hormone replacement therapy is used for menopausal symptoms but messing with the body’s chemical balance can lead to yeast infections.

Pregnancy – Another time when your body’s chemical balance is upset.
Immune system – If your immune system is weak due to another illness like HIV, or weak from a poor diet or other reasons such as medication you are also more at risk from yeast infections.

Weather – The ideal environment for a yeast infection is warm and damp, so if the weather is humid the yeast can thrive.

Clothing – Tight and synthetic clothing can lead to sweating and this creates the warm and damp conditions the yeast loves.

Diabetes – If you have a raised blood sugar level you are more prone as yeast eats sugar.

Products – Perfumes, soaps, bath salts and oils, scented pads, laundry detergents and softeners can all upset the balance between the bacteria and the yeast. There is also a spermicide nonoxynol-9 that does too.

Damage – If there is damage to the vaginal tissue, for example from chemotherapy, you are more at risk of yeast infections. If you have been made bed ridden or are in a wheelchair this means the area is always warm and damp.

It is a sad fact that today over three quarters of women have to or will have to deal with a yeast infection. Some are lucky enough to only have to deal with it once, others have the large misfortune to have it repeatedly. These are known to have chronic yeast infection. Symptoms are very unpleasant and differ woman to woman. They include itching, burning, swelling of the vagina and pain during sex and when urinating.

Upon self-diagnosis women have a tendency to head off to the pharmacy for over the counter treatments or to their doctors for a prescription. But these cures for yeast infections are not necessarily the best option as they tend to treat more the symptoms than the cause. Therefore the infection is never really cured and so eventually it becomes active again and the symptoms reappear. It is also possible that repeated use of these drugs can cause the infection to become resistant to it, so each time you use it, it is less effective anyway.

There is good news though as there are natural treatments that do take care of symptoms and the cause of the infection. Yogurt is a great example if you use the right kind. Probiotic yogurts have good bacteria in them which your body needs to fight the infection, thus restoring the balance in your body. You can use it directly onto the vagina using a spray or a syringe or put some on a tampon and insert it into the vagina. Also ice cubes made from yogurt and rubbed over the area is effective. All of these methods are to be done twice daily. Of course you can eat it too!

Another cure for yeast infections is the use of apple cider vinegar added to a bath. Just use a cup and then soak in it for at least thirty minutes. Not only should this help relive the itching it will help your body restore itself.
There are many other natural cures for yeast infections that work, just do some more research should you need them. You need to work out what works for you, which treatments used together give you the most effective and quickest results. I would also suggest you look up about how to change your lifestyle and diet to help prevent yeast infections as well.

Vaginal yeast infections happen when a fungus called Candida Albicans is given the right environment to overgrow and spread. Recurring means you have four or more infections every year. There are several reasons you might have this problem and do not worry you are not alone in it. In fact many women incorrectly treat their infection or use ineffective methods and have it come back because they got rid of the symptoms and not the cause. The following explanation for recurring infections may help you make changes to your life that will stop the cycle for good.

Environment
Candida like most fungi thrives in warm, damp and dark areas. To avoid giving it its ideal environment wear loose clothing, wear cotton as it allows the skin to breathe and when you can, avoid underwear altogether! You want to do whatever you can to get as much air as possible circulating in the infected area. Avoid pantyhose, synthetic materials, and tight clothing. Wash thoroughly but then dry thoroughly also after showers and swimming etc.

Diet
The things you consume have a vital role to play and are the leading cause if it is a poor diet. High consumption of sugar is a terrible idea as the yeast feeds on it. Processed foods, alcohol, caffeine and nicotine are also poor choices. Cut these out of your diet and find some relaxation techniques to avoid stress and sleep well.

Immune systems
Antibiotics can weaken immune systems and are also bad because they kill good and bad bacteria, and it is the good bacteria in your body that regulates the fungus. Other things that weaken the immune system are drugs, stress and illnesses like HIV.

Diabetes
Diabetics are at a higher risk to reoccurring yeast infection because of their sugar levels. If you are not controlling your diabetes properly with a good diet and exercise, your sugar levels become too high. Again yeast feeds on sugar and so enjoys high sugar levels!

Birth Control Pills
Another well known cause of infections. This is due to the level of progestogen in some pills. Those that have higher levels cause more instances of reoccurring yeast infections in women.

The best yeast infection treatment must treat the root of the problem as well as the symptoms. This is not medications over the counter or prescripted, as they do not offer a permanent solution. They treat only the symptoms and ignore the reason behind the infection. All you need to do to get rid of the infections for good is look at your lifestyle and make some changes.

For example your diet may have to change. As the fungus that causes yeast infections (Candida Albicans) feeds on sugar, your diet needs to become as sugar free as possible. It does not make sense to treat the symptoms of an infection but to go on feeding it its primary food source so that it can grow and spread! No more sodas, chocolate, candy, cookies or cakes, or at least make sure they are rare treats not everyday foods in your diet. Alcohol is another offender as it is a fermented produced and coffee also needs to be cut out, as well as white and wheat flour. It may be hard at first adjusting your eating habits around this but it is worth it, trust me.

Another thing that may need to be altered is the environment you may be providing the yeast infection. It thrives in warm and damp places. Therefore wear baggy clothing that allows air to circulate, avoid clothing like panty hose. Wear cotton underwear as cotton allows the skin to breathe, when you can do not wear underwear at all! Try wearing skirts if the weather permits again so that air can get in.

Keep a good hygiene routine that involves thorough drying. Avoid scented and perfumed products like soaps, lotions, tampons, pads and detergents. Use environmentally friendly natural products, good for you and good for the earth.

In order to clear the root problem of your yeast infection it is important you make these lifestyle changes. Use medications, over the counter treatments, even natural remedies without making these changes and you may find the infection still comes back. You should choose yourself the best yeast infection treatment.

Not all women immediately become aware that they have a yeast infection as symptoms from woman to woman can vary. But for some they can be so bad that their day to day life routine is ruined as they try to avoid going out and seeing people, out of embarrassment. There are ways in which you can deal with your problem effectively other than using drugs or antibiotics.

Antibiotics are actually the last thing you want to take for a yeast infection as they can be one of the causes of it. If you have been on antibiotics recently for another illness this may be why you are suffering from a yeast infection now. Normally the fungus Candida, which is naturally present on our bodies all the time, is kept under control by good bacteria present in the body but antibiotics kill all bacteria the good ones too. As a result the Candida grow and spread. It is then that the very undesirable symptoms kick in, such as pain, itching, swelling and irritation. But how can you treat it?

Many women claim the best methods are natural remedies as they work on the root cause of the infection as well as the symptoms. Other treatments like over the counter products and drugs have side effects and are more costly as well as only dealing with the symptoms. These yeast infection natural remedies can be homeopathic, herbal and lifestyle changes. The following three suggestions are home yeast infection natural remedies that work.

1.	Grapefruit seed extract is available from many stores. You can put it directly onto the vagina to clear up the infection.
2.	Curds from unpasteurized milk are another remedy. They have good bacteria that will kill the fungus. Just use a tampon and place the curd up the vagina.
3.	Finally oregano oil can kill the candida. Use on the vagina two to three times daily. It will take a few days to see results.
Use these treatments to get rid of an existing infection and make changes to your diet, clothing and hygiene routine to ensure your yeast infection does not become a reoccurring one.

Diet is a large contributor to making people more prone to getting yeast infections. In all probability you are eating foods that are feeding the yeast, letting it grow and spread further. It is because of this kind of lifestyle that you may never permanently get rid if your infection. The diet you need to change to is a simple one and is called yeast infection diet, it may be hard making the changes though as some find it restrictive. Here are three changes you can make to your eating habits.

•	Go Sugar Free
The yeast’s main food is sugar. It uses the sugar you eat to grow and spread. Cut out sugary foods like chocolate, cakes, cookies and candy. Stop taking sugar with your tea or coffee and drink sugar free drinks. Interestingly another good reason to cut out sugar is that increases fermentation in the body which raises your chances of getting other illnesses like cancer!

•	Go Yeast Free
It makes sense doesn’t it? If you are trying to fight a yeast infection why add more yeast to your body? Though the yeast you eat does not make the yeast of the infection it does act as another source of food, providing it with nutrients it needs apart from the sugar. The killer foods would be ones like donuts – yeast and sugar combined in one product equals yeast infection all you can eat buffet.

•	Go Alcohol Free
This again comes back to fermentation in the body as fermentation is the process in which yeast quickly extends. Therefore you do no need fermented products going into your body. Also when you drink alcohol the liver has to detoxify it and that gradually causes health problems down the line. Finally alcohol has a direct impact on your immune system, it kills good bacteria in your body both of which are meant to fight the fungus that causes yeast infections. If they are impaired your chance of curing or avoiding yeast infections is much lower.

As well as the above yeast infection diet changes there are other options you may wish to look up including all natural remedies that are effective, cheap and work with speed and permanence.

The cause of yeast infections is the Candida fungus and it affects women, men and children. Symptoms include itching, burning, swelling and irritation and are very uncomfortable to put up with. More and more people though women in particular, are finding out that over the counter treatments and prescripted drugs are not doing what they want them to do. They may be dealing with symptoms but they are not dealing with the yeast infection permanently. It is because of this realization that people are turning to yeast natural cure to treat their yeast infections.

The fact is that many of those treatments are only created to deal with the symptoms, they aren’t meant to get rid of the root cause, the yeast spores. To deal with these you have to make changes yourself in your daily routines, lifestyle and diet. It is not as complicated as you may think.

If you have used over the counter treatments you may have found that the side effects can be almost as bad as the symptoms you are treating. But there is no need to despair, as yeast natural cure will save you, taking care of the symptoms with no nasty side effects and helping your body focus on the root problem. They are also cheaper! For people that have suffered yeast infections reoccurring for years this is good news I am sure.

The effective yeast natural cure is probably in your kitchen already. Yogurt, the kind with good bacteria in it, is a very popular home remedy. Garlic has antifungal properties that fights the fungus as does apple cider vinegar. They are very quick and effective at getting rid of your symptoms but have a smaller role to play in defeating the spores that will allow the infection to return.

Natural remedies mean you can treat the symptoms, which is all over the counter medications do, but at a lower cost and without side effects. Adopting lifestyle changes which you can find further advice on in another article, will finish off that yeast infection once and for ever more.

If you are having frequent yeast infections problems that keep coming back you need to read this article to find out how to get rid of it once and for all. It is time to break the cycle, though chronic yeast infections are tough to deal with, it can be done. Don’t get dragged down into the nightmare of nasty symptoms. The itching, pain, irritation, burning and swelling do not have to ruin your life and general well being. There are effective steps you can take to stop it, here are three of them.

1.	Stay dry
Not only do you need to wash properly you really need to dry properly too. Yeast infections love a damp warm area to grow in, so don’t give them a good home! Dry thoroughly after showering/bathing either with a towel or if need be a hair drier! Do not stay in damp clothing for example swim suits or sweaty work out clothes. Shower, dry and change as soon as you can.

2.	Stay Loose
I mean your clothing! No more tight jeans, tight leather pants, tight panties. It keeps the heat trapped which the yeast thrives in. Wear loose pants and particularly try loose skirts. Cotton panties are a good idea as cotton allows your skin to breathe.

3.	Stay sugar free
Maybe the toughest piece of advice here if you have a sweet tooth like I do. Sugar is to yeast like fish food is to fish. Yeast feeds on it and grows and grows. Cut out sugar and sweet items and starve the yeast away and keep it away. In case you find it hard try chewing sugar free gum and drink plenty of sugar free drinks.

These are just three ideas to keep the frequent yeast infections problems at bay but should you find yourself already infected there are natural remedies out there you can try. Just make sure you choose a treatment that kills all the yeast spores or you will still find you have problems with it reoccurring.

Being pregnant makes you more likely to get a yeast infection as your hormones and body chemicals are out of balance. The fungus that causes yeast infections Candida Albicans is always present in the body but if an environment is given to it that it likes it will grow and spread. Being pregnant can create an environment that allows it to do just that.

The problem when pregnant is knowing what you can do for treatment that is safe for yourself and your unborn child. The top priority as an expectant mother is to find a pregnancy yeast infection treatment, natural or medicated, that is safe and will not bring on an early labor. You can talk to a pharmacist about over the counter pregnancy yeast infection treatments but whatever method you choose it is important to talk to your doctor first.

This article has four pieces of advice you can use whilst pregnant without any risk to you or your child.

•	Diet – Some foods that you can ensure are in your diet will help you re-balance your body’s pH and make it less acidic. These include almonds, pumpkins, carrots, blackberries, lemon seeds, cabbage, sauerkraut, pineapple and onions.
•	Clothing – Avoid tight fitting clothes as they trap in heat and make you sweaty. The yeast thrives in warm, damp areas. Loose clothes will help keep it cool and dry down there. Try skirts, loose pants and wear cotton as cotton allows the skin to breathe.
•	Go Commando! – When you can, skip the underwear and go commando! This way you are letting air get down there. Otherwise wear cotton underwear for reasons mentioned above.
•	Wash and Dry – Make sure you wash thoroughly and very importantly dry thoroughly too. After baths, showers, exercise make sure you clean and dry the vaginal area.

These actions are not going to harm your baby or cause any complications in your pregnancy. There are other natural pregnancy yeast infection treatment you can take but always check with your doctor first.

Yeast infection of the vagina is probably the most common type of yeast infection. However Candida can occur in both men and women and in other places on the body, such as the skin. Since vaginal is the more common though this is what this article will look at more closely. This article provides you yeast infection information.

Vaginal yeast infection can be caused by damage to the vulva or vaginal membranes or by environmental changes. Sometimes pH raises, it may be more warm and damp there than usual, perhaps you have eaten more sugar in your diet than before or you may be experiencing hormonal changes such as pregnancy. Normally the yeast is kept dormant by good bacteria already in our bodies but if for some reason that good bacteria has been affected then the yeast is not being held back and will grow.

The more common reported signs are itching, a white or gray thick discharge, general irritation in the vaginal area and rashes. You may also find you have back pains, nausea and fever. Although yeast infections can be passed during sexual intercourse they are not categorized as an STD as it is not sex that actually cause the infection, it’s just a way the yeast can be passed back and forth.

If you are diabetic you may find that you have a tendency to have yeast infections reoccur. This is because the yeast feeds on the sugars glucose and glycogen, which diabetics have a high amount of in their blood. Weak immune systems also mean the yeast infection is harder to get rid of and keep it gone.

My yeast infections information: first of all diabetic or not avoid sugar in your diet. There is no sense in feeding it! Secondly look for supplements to add to your diet to help fight the fungus. Some that can stop it happening again are vitamins B3, B5 and B6 as well as Colloidal silver as these boost the immune system, controlling the yeast fermentation. Others like amino acids L-Lysine and L-Threoine would do this as well. To get rid of oxidants in the body that encourage yeast multiplying take L-Methionine or L-Cysteine.

Since 80 per cent of women have or will suffer from yeast infections it is safe to say that millions of women know what it is like to have to suffer through the symptoms it brings. Embarrassing itching, pain, odor and discomfort are some of the many physical symptoms along with other general symptoms of mood swings, depression and so on. There are several over the counter treatments that promise to help but quite often women are disappointed, having spent a lot of money on treatments that are not working, or that work for a while until it comes back again.

Here I will help you with some ideas on how to prevent yeast infections from coming back. You should know that the cause of the yeast infection is a fungus called Candida albicans. There are actually over twenty species of microscopic fungi but this one is the more common. It is in our bodies all the time but sometimes the balance in our body is changed and an environment is created in which the fungi basically throws a party and invites all its like minded friends! This happens more so in damp and warm areas which is why yeast infections in the vagina are so common.

Here are four pieces of advice on how to prevent yeast infection.

Treatments
Mild white vinegar can be used as a remedy. Use 1 quart of water with one tablespoon of the vinegar and wash the area with this solution.
Garlic is another effective treatment as it is anti-fungal so fights the fungus that causes yeast infections. Eat it or insert it into the vagina. Fresh garlic not powder!

Prevention
Do not wear tight clothes – so ditch that Lycra now. They trap in heat and make you sweat so they create an ideal environment for the yeast. Loose, cotton clothing is best.

Chemicals in the infected area can make it worse. Tampons, hygiene sprays, condoms, soap, detergent, toilet paper, softener – these can all bring on an infection if they have dyes and perfumes and chemicals in them. Look for environment friendly, natural products. They are just as good.

It is an interesting fact that three out of four women world wide will have had a yeast infection at some time in their life. Clearly yeast infections are a common ailment though this does not mean they are not extremely uncomfortable and unpleasant to deal with. They can make a woman’s life a very difficult time whilst infected. There is much writing and discussion about yeast infections; symptoms, how to avoid them, how to treat them. But it is also important to know why they happen, what causes yeast infections, why do they reoccur and why do some women seem to get them more often than others.

It starts with a fungus called Candida Albicans. This can be found in many places around the body including your mouth, the vagina and your intestines. Where ever this fungus is, the yeast infection could develop. They do not automatically cause a yeast infection. In order for that to happen an imbalance has to occur and this lets them multiply.

When the fungus over grows in the mouth the infection is known as Thrush. There are different reasons why the fungus might be allowed to do this including:

Tight clothing – this allows moisture to stay trapped in the area thus giving the fungi its perfect environment in which to grow.

Antibiotics – these are designed to kill bacteria. Unfortunately they do not know the difference between bad bacteria and good bacteria so they kill it all. The good bacteria is what was keeping the fungus under control.

Pregnancy – during pregnancy the body is out of balance anyway thus possibly leading to a yeast infection.

Diabetes – is a problem with sugar. Sugar feeds the fungus that leads to a yeast infection.
There are other reasons for yeast infections to occur but those mentioned are the main ones. Some you can help control and some you cannot. Also worth knowing is that women who have a lot of yeast infections should consider getting tested for HIV as it has been found that HIV positive women commonly have reoccurring infections. That does not mean of course that you definitely have HIV, just that it should be checked. If we understand how and why something happens, we are better equipped at preventing it.

Now that you know exactly what causes yeast infections, you can probably deal with the situation a lot better and in a natural way.

Yeast infections can be suffered by anyone at any age, men, women even children. They are more common than many people realize though the more irritating condition is probably suffered by women when they get a yeast infection in the vagina. It can be painful, extremely itchy and swollen. It is important for people to learn that antibiotics can have an effect on getting yeast infections so that they are forewarned.

All medications have side effects even over the counter drugs. Antibiotics are no different. Maybe the last time you took some antibiotics for a sore throat or other infection, you noticed when you went to the bathroom that your stools were softer, maybe you even had diarrhea. This happened due to the antibiotics disrupting your body’s system. Antibiotics can affect the bowels. They kill some of the normal flora germs in the bowel, so the body grows them faster and this leads to the diarrhea. It is considered an acceptable side effect to taking antibiotics as it is something the patient can tolerate, it is not serious.

The increased chance of getting a yeast infection is the same kind of side effect to antibiotics. If you were taking antibiotics for a sinus infection for example, they will get rid of the bacteria that caused your illness in the sinus. But antibiotics can also kill good bacteria. Good bacteria are what keep the yeast in the vagina under control. When taking antibiotics, those good bacteria are killed and so the balance in that area is upset. The yeast can multiply without a fight and an infection results.

However this may not happen every time you take antibiotics and nor will it happen to every person. We do not all get affected by the side effects of drugs, or if we do, not always in the same way. Some have a better tolerance than others. Also not all antibiotics are the same. But at least with this information you can understand a little more how antibiotics – yeast infections relate in some people.

Bottom line: when you use antibiotics yeast infections can be triggered due to the death of good bacteria.

Sadly it is a fact that around seven out of ten women will at some point get a yeast infection if in fact they already haven’t. It is a very unpleasant disease that affects a woman’s general health and lifestyle. The symptoms involve an itching, burning vagina with an unhealthy discharge and intercourse can be painful. So if you’re wondering how to get rid of yeast infection, here are some ways you can deal with this situation and get back to a normal life:

1.	Intercourse – sorry girls but you need to practice some abstinence for a while! Sex transfers the yeast infection between partners so even if you have treated yourself you can get it back the next time you are intimate with your partner. If you do decide to have sex use condoms.

2.	Clothing – Try to wear light materials that allow your body to ‘breathe’, like cotton. Yeast is a fungal and fungus loves dark warm wet places. Tight pants and panties keep the area warm and damp which allows the yeast infection to thrive. Man made materials do the same as they do not let the body breathe.

3. Hygiene – It is very important that you keep your genitals clean and dry. After washing follow tip two and put on cotton panties which will ensure the area stays dry.

4.	Scents – Avoid using scented products near or on your vagina. They can affect the pH balance and this then causes Candida Albicans, the bacteria that lead to yeast infections, to multiply. This includes items like scented pads or douches.

5.	Natural remedies – Unfortunately some treatments from pharmacies have side effects, but there are natural options that will work just as effectively and are safe. The most common natural treatments normally have probiotic yogurts, garlic and apple cider vinegar. There are variations on how to use them, but all can be applied directly to the infected area and of course eaten.

As you can see, in this article we’ve dealt both with how to get rid of a yeast infection and how to prevent one; as you can see, just making sure you live a healthy lifestyle and practice safe sex can greatly improve your chances at preventing or controlling this disease.
