Natural Cures for Yeast Infections
There is a fungus called Candida that when overgrows leads to a yeast infection. This can develop in several places around the body like in skin folds, the vagina, under nails, the mouth, under breasts and in the lower abdomen. For women the vaginal type is the most common and can cause an unpleasant odor. It is more common in women than men because of how the vagina is, folds and damp and warm, which is what the yeast thrives in. It is important to know that it can be passed on to your sexual partner too, male or female.
If you find you have a yeast infection there are natural ways to deal with it and a few of those are outlined below.
1. Cinnamon is a wonderful flavor and can be used to fight the growth of yeast. Boil some water then add in up to ten cinnamon sticks and simmer for a further ten minutes. Leave to cool then use a cloth to wipe the infected area with the infused water.
2. Yogurt can help stop the spread of a yeast infection because of the good bacteria or lactobacillus bacteria, it contains. It needs to be the live and plain kind, no added sugar as sugar feeds the yeast. Smear it across the infection and leave for around quarter of an hour.
3. Garlic is another great cure with anti fungal and antibacterial properties that will fight the fungus. Wrap a peeled clove in cheesecloth and insert, or eat it.
4. Half a cup of vinegar mixed with half a cup of warm water and add a generous amount of salt. Stir for fifteen minutes or until the salt is dissolved. Use the solution directly on the infected region to rebalance the pH which will lead to an environment the yeast does not like to live in.
Use these natural remedies as soon as you know you have a yeast infection as the sooner you treat it, the more effective they will be and the quicker the infection will go away.
