Home Cure For Yeast Infection
Yeast infections are caused by a fungus from the Candida species. It is more common in women though it can occur in men and children too. Signs that it is a yeast infection are pain when urinating and sometimes during sex, thick white discharge, itching and redness. It is very uncomfortable to have and can cause the sufferer embarrassment.
Finding the right treatment can be tricky as many people are turning away from prescripted medication and over the counter ointments due to the cost and side effects. Thankfully there are efective home remedies that people can turn to for relief. They are easy to use, easy to get and easy on the wallet and body.
1. Plain Yogurt
The top choice for many sufferers is yogurt. In the right types of yogurt are acidophiles, a bacteria that produce hydrogen peroxide. When used, the hydrogen peroxide tackles the pH level in the vagina making it less hospitable for the fungi Candida Albucan to live there. Use sugar free, plain probiotic/live yogurt. No sugar added is important because sugar is a yeast infection food supply. To use it you can eat it daily of course, but you can also smear it across the infected area. To deal with the infection in the vaginal canal, dip a tampon in the yogurt then insert it. If you find the yogurt is absorbing too much into the tampon first coat it with olive oil. Leave the tampon inserted for at least a few hours.
2. Vinegar
The weak acid in vinegar is another way to bring the pH of the vagina back to neutral. To use it, add some to your bath water and soak in it for a good amount of time. The vinegar will help kill the fungus.
3. Fresh Garlic
This is a great remedy as it has antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral components to it. It can kill the Candida fast taking the horrible symptoms with it. To use, peel a clove and place it in some cheesecloth or gauze, dip in olive oil to lubricate and then insert it into the vagina.
As you can see these are three remedies that you probably have in your kitchen already, and if not, simple to get from your grocery store. Also look at your diet and your lifestyle so that you prevent future breakouts.
