As the title informs you a yeast infection is not a female illness although women get them more often than men do. Symptoms amongst men when that have gotten a yeast infection are similar to women’s. They include soreness of the genitalia, itching, the head of the penis may have irritation, along the shaft there may be a rash and or blisters and there may be a discharge. All in all very uncomfortable and unpleasant.

There are several natural treatments you can treat yourself with if you are suffering from a yeast infection, that are effective and safe. White vinegar can be diluted with water and used on the penis as this will help kill the fungus that causes the infection and will with time get rid of the infection entirely.

Another remedy for you to examine is grapefruit seed extract. Add two drops to a glass of water and drink it all down for relief. It will stunt the infection’s growth and help your body fight it. The more often you take it the quicker you will see results.

There are also many antifungal agents you can choose from to treat yourself with from your local homeopathic store or pharmacy. There are also many over the counter medications or prescripted teatments from a doctor. They all work pretty quickly so if you are seeing no results within just a couple of days, that treatment is probably not working for you. If this happens visit your doctor again.

For internet users there is the option of buying online products but a word of advice. Make sure the ingredients are all natural so that you are not endangering yourself and that your purchase comes with a guarantee so that you are not wasting your money.
Having to endure a male yeast infection is difficult. It is painful and can lead to more serious health risks if left untreated. Make sure you treat the yeast infection as early as you can and learn about how to take steps to prevent the infection from returning.

The major cause of oral thrush is Candida albicans - the yeast fungus that under normal conditions occurs naturally in our mouths and bodies. But when an imbalance occurs the yeast grows excessively and can then attack the host ie. you. Oral thrush must be treated as early as possible otherwise it can get complicated. Avoid sugar and foods containing sugars as these feed the yeast. Try to add supplements of vitamins to your diet to give your immune system a boost.

Symptoms to look out for are yellow scaley patches in the mouth that look like blisters. These make it painful to swallow any food or drink and may even bleed if you scrape at them. The earlier you treat this the less chance you have of it returning. There are several options open to you, some work and some are potentially dangerous. Therefore make sure you are informed and think carefully about the route you take.

Some people nowadays turn to over the counter treatments and have success, but many are becoming unhappy with those and the prescripted options. There are several reasons for this, a reluctance to put uneccesary chemicals in their bodies, the side effects that can result and sometimes just becasue they are ineffective. The alternative is to try natural treatments which can help relieve the smyptoms and the infection. Firstly make sure you drink plenty of water and you have excellent oral hygiene. Brush and floss regularly and use mouthwash.

There are several reasons why you may have gotten Thrush. Antibiotics when used over a prolonged period can cause yeast infections. Other reasons may be an unhealthy liefstyle and diet that has too many yeast and sugar foods. Avoid sugar as it feeds the yeast, and leads it to breed more rapidly.

By knowing what causes the infection you can prevent it from returning once you have treated the current one. One final natural remedy suggestion is eating lots of natural plain yogurt each day. It has good bacteria that will slow down the yeast’s growth, will fight the infection and will provide a much needed soothing feeling.

Normally when you hear about a yeast infection you think of the vaginal infection for women or the penile infection for men, but a yeast infection caused by the Candida fungus can also infect areas of the skin. This article will look at three common places a person can get a skin yeast infection.

Vagina

This is the most common place for a candida infection to occur because of the perfect breeding environment for the fungus, warm, damp and dark. The fungus can grow to excessive amounts both in and around the vagina leading to itching and burning symptoms. Very serious cases can have symptoms of lesions and sores also.

Penis

When a man has sexual intercourse with a woman who has the candida infection in her vagina, he can get a yeast infection on his penis. However a problem that men often face is being able to tell the difference between a candida infection and a sexually transmitted disease. Serious cases of men with penile yeast infection can have blisters on the head of the penis making it painful to urinate or to have sex. In particularly bad cases these blisters can extend from the head and shaft to the man’s inner thighs and even the anus.

Folds of skin

Intertrigo can occur under folds of skin because they are damp and warm. Areas that are likely to be infected are the groin, underarms, under breasts, and under folds of skin in the overweight and obese. If there are also cuts or lesions in that infected area the yeast micro-organisms will enter the bloodstream. It is vital that a person has excellent hygeine routines if they are frequent yeast infection sufferers. Take showers frequently ensuring you lift folds of skin and soap them down and rinse properly. Also dry off thoroughly. When sweating a lot use a dry towel to wipe down under the folds as soon as you can so that the yeast does not grow and mutliply at a much faster rate.

Yeast is a fungus and when that fungus called Candida Albicans is given a chance to grow more than it is normaally allowed to, this leads to a yeast infection which can happen in women, men and even children. It is an uncomfortable infection to deal with, wherever it occurs, but the more common places are the mouth (Thrush), the genital area, under folds of skin, intestinal and places that are warm, dark and moist.

The fungus occurs on us naturally but in small controlled amounts. When good bacteria are affected and killed they can not do their job of controlling the growth of the fungus. Skin yeast infection has the appearance of elephant skin and makes the skin softer. If it happens in the gut it can cause a ‘leaky gut’ where digestion becomes difficult.

There are several reasons why the overgrowth of fungus is able to happen. One main cause is the long term use of antibiotics. Though they are great for killing bacteria that may be making you ill, antibiotics can not tell the difference between bad bacteria and good. So they kill the good ones too without which the overgrowth of fungus occurs. To help replenish good bacteria in your body find probiotic foods and supplements. Live yogurt is one great food source though it must be sugar free, as sugar helps the yeast grow by feeding it.

One of the better drugs that are available to treat a yeast infection is Diflucan. While you are treating yourself with a medication there are steps to help clear the infection up and prevent future outbreaks. Avoid steroids and birth control pills as they cause hormonal imbalances. If you have an illness like cancer or diabetes talk to your doctor as these make you more susceptable. Do not take Diflucan if you are expecting a baby as it may cause harm to the unborn child. If this is you, have a look at some effective natural treatments.

The advantage to taking Diflucan if you are able to is that it is a very convenient method of treating a yeast infection. It is effective and easy to use. The pharmacist will provide you with instructions on how to take it and if unsure consult them or your doctor.

Did you know that leaving a recurring yeast infection untreated is very dangerous? There are 75 toxins in the Candida yeast that will slowly poison you. Once it has taken root it can then multiply in any organ and can make holes in the walls of your intestines meaning food that is not completely digested can enter the blood. This weakens you, can cause constipation, poor memory and acid reflux. It is also a fact that regular yeast infections can make you more likely to get HIV as it is easier for the virus to enter the bloodstream when there is vaginal irritation. Vice versa HIV can cause more yeast infections as it affects the immune system and imbalances the chemistry in the vagina.

It is unfortunate that most of the treatments that are meant to take care of yeast infections really just deal with the symptoms, or maybe one of the many causes. That is why even after a treatment with antibiotics, creams and other drugs or medications, the yeast infection still comes back. Antibiotics in particular are a big factor in the cause of yeast infections. Overusing them can make you more susceptable because they kill both bad bacteria and good bacteria. With the balance upset yeast has a chance to build up.

The causes of yeast infections tend to be things like stress, weather and/or diet changes that are sudden, high sugar intake, birth control pills, poor diet, contraceptive sponge use, too much caffeine, too many carbohydrates, too much yeast in your diet and poor sleeping patterns. Other hormonal changes like pregnancy, period and menopause can be a factor. Diabetes can cause yeast growth because it is linked to high sugar levels. Douching can upset the vagina’s pH balance and can therefore also contribute.

If you are looking to stop the infections you need to make changes to your diet and think long term. You can also eat more plain yogurt that has live cultures (lactobacillus acidophilus). This also makes a good topical treatment when you have an infection. Wear loose clothing, so wear those tight pants less often and wear cotton panties because it allows air in. This prevents warm damp environments that the yeast loves. There are creams and suppositories you can get over the counter at your local pharmacy if symptoms become difficult to bear.

There are many cures out there for a yeast infection that are natural, safe and that work. They have been tried and tested for many years by many people and unlike pharmacutical treatments come with no chemical ingredients that may be harmful. This article gives you six natural remedies you can try.

Garlic is a common natural remedy that yeast infection sufferers turn to because it will soothe the symptoms as well as giving relief from tthe infection itself. Eat it raw, or alternatively it can be used like a suppository - wrap it in gauze or cheesecloth and insert it into the vagina. It will help kill the fungus that causes the infection.

Yoghurt is very popular because it introduces good bacteria back into the body which help stop the growth of the fungus. Make sure you use plain yoghurt that has no added sugar or fruits. It can be applied directly to the area or use a tampon dipped in it and then insert it.

The essentail oil Tea Tree oil can be used by diluting it first (because as a complex compound it should not be used in its natural form) and apply it to the infection. It has a soothing effect.

Apple cider vinegar is another but this one can not be applied directly to the infection as the previous ones can. Mix a cup in your bath water and soak in it - remember to use the Apple cider vinegar not white vinegar as that will feed the infection not inhibit it.
Grapefruit is another natural cure as is honey. Honey can be applied outside the vagina but do not let it enter it as it will feed the yeast (the fungus loves all things sweet!)

All of these methods have been proven to work so choose one and give it a try, or choose a couple so you have better odds!

Men tend to think that they cannot be affected by yeast infections and that it is a woman’s illness. But I am afraid this is a misconception, men can get Candida infections and this article will help identify the most common sysmptoms to help you self diagnose. Male yeast infections are quite unpleasant to have to suffer through and are usually of the penis or of the mouth (Thrush).

A yeast infection happens when conditions change that present the microorganisms a chance to over grow. They are already on the body but are controlled by good bacteria. But if the good bacteria are negatively affected or the immune system is weakened or you have sex with a partner who has a yeast infection this can lead to you getting it. Here are the eight common symptoms.

1. Digestive Problems - reported as the most common sign in men that they have a yeast infection.
2. Loose stools
3. Bad Breath
4. Bloating
5. Intestinal gas
6. Constipation
7. Lack of energy - tiredness and lack of motivation.
8. Penile itching - Commonly known as Jock itch.

Just having one or two of these symptoms does not mean you definitely have a yeast infection but if you have more than one or two, then it would be a good idea to take a trip to your physician to get a definite diagnosis. It is important to act as soon as you can as leaving a yeast infection untreated can cause other health problems and the infection itself can worsen.

Since the yeast feeds on sugar you may find that you’re craving sweet foods more than usual like cakes and cookies. Or you might be eating more carbohydrates like pasta and chips as carbs turn to sugar in our bodies anyway. Whether your symptoms are mild or severe go and get yourself checked out now to save yourself future probelms. If you want to know how to avoid getting a yeast infection again, avoid the sugar, the carbs, beer and processed and refined foods. Wear cotton clothing that is loose so that the environment is kept dry and cool. (The yeast thrives in warm, damp and dark areas). Drink plenty of water and wash and dry properly.

If you are a guy suffering from a yeast infection do not worry there are safe easy treatments for you and three are explained right here. Women can chat and talk about anything including swapping what they know about effective natural treatments but this is not something you talk to you pool buddy with! However you may not talk about it but men can get them for a variety of reasons including sex with an infected partner, and so here are some things you can do about it.

1. Monistat

Although this is aimed at women this cream can also be used by men. Just apply it directly on to the penis. If the cream feels too strong and causes an irritation dilute it a little with water. To boost up the treatment use vinegar too as this is an antifungal natural treatment also.

2. Virgin Coconut Oil

Inside the oil is caprylic acid which fights yeast. Take two to four tablesppons each day to help your body fight the Candida.

3. Garlic

This is also a female yeast infection treatment and works because of its antifungal and antibacterial properties. Women tend to apply it directly to the vagina but men can do a shot! Fill a shot glass with milk or olive oil. Cut up a clove of garlic and chew it and swallow. Then chase it down with the shot. The olive oil or milk are good with the garlic but if you do not like either just use water.
Different men find that different treatments work for them so you choose which one you want but then stick with it so that it has time to work. In order to get rid of the cause of the problem it may be time to look at your diet, your lifestyle, your clothing and your hygiene routine to avoid future outbreaks.

Women are more likely to get a yeast infection than men, but men can still get them and the symptoms and causes tend to be very similar. In men because they are more likely to be beer drinkers this can help a male yeast infection thrive as does eating lots of sweet snacks. Once you understand what a yeast infection is and clear yourself of any misconceptions and old wive tales you will be able to avoid the infection and make the changes in your lifestyle if they are needed.

Men do not always immediately recognise that they have a yeast infection, it is only when their health worsens that they suspect something is wrong. If the urethra is affected by a yeast infection this can be nasty as it can damage the man’s sexual function. This is a big clue to men that there is a problem.

Common male yeast infection symptoms are smelly breath, indigestion, constipation, bloatedness, gas, diarrhea and very loose stools. As mentioned before not being able to function during sex is also a sign, as well as pain during sex. There can be itching, a rash along the penis, sometimes white or yellow discharge from the tip and redness.

If the male yeast infection is affecting the penis there is a treatment called Lotrimin that can be purchased at the pharmacy over the counter. Gentian Violet is another treatment that is safe and natural. Aceium is also a good option to treat the infection with. A recommened herbal product is Nutribiotic Liquid Grapefruit See Extract. Other natural remedies that work for women would also work for men including yogurt, tea tree oil, garlic and white vinegar. There are plenty of treatments you can choose from which is a relief I am sure since the infection is very unpleasant to suffer from.

A final piece of advice is checking your diet. As mentioned before cut out sugar and beer, but also cut down on carbohydrates, processed and refined foods. Eat more vegetables and find ways to destress. Wear natural fibred clothing and keep it loose. Drink lots of water to help clean and flush out your system.

Yeast infections are a fungal infection caused by Candida Albicans and appear in warm, damp and dark areas of the body such as the mouth, vagina, intestines and navel. They are not life threatening normally, unless it is an extreme case but they should not be ignored and left too long untreated. If that happens they can get worse and other health complications can arise. So for that reason it is important to be able to recognise whether you have a yeast infection or not.

The fungus Candida Albicans is on the body normally in small numbers and you do not notice it because at those numbers it is not a problem. But conditions can change which causes it to grow and then a yeast infection happens. This can be from hormonal changes, prolonged use of antibiotics, illnesses like HIV or Diabetes.

Symptoms depend on where on the body the infection is and can vary from person to person. Vaginal infections come with itching especially near the vulva, a thick white or yellow discharge almost like cottage cheese, a starchy or yeast smell, swelling, redness of the vulva and pain during sex and urinating.

Sometimes particularly because of the pain when peeing symptom, women think thay have a urinary tract infection and so the wrong treatment is taken. But you can tell the difference if you know what to look for. If the burning pain is when the urine touches the vulva then it is a yeast infection. If the pain is as the urine comes down the tube then that is more likely a urinary tract infection.

If you find your yeast infection symptoms also come with pelvic pains and a temperature then you really must seek out medical help straight away as this means the problem is becoming serious. It is also good to ask a doctor in case you are not sure about your symptoms because incorrect self treating can cause other health problems.
