Cure Yeast Infection Naturally
As with most things in order to deal with a yeast infection it is important you understand how and why it occurs. Candidiasis is the medical word for a yeast infection and if it is of the mouth it is also called Thrush. It is a fungal infection or mucosis and is caused by a fungus called Candida Albicans. It lives on areas of the skin or mucosal membranes in small areas, usually these are the genitals or the mouth. If you do happen to get a yeast infection inside the body it can happen in the bladder, alimentary canal and throat.
The Candida fungi are one of thousands of micro organisms that normally live on or in the body. Usually they do not pose any health problems, but Candiasis happens when they are not properly controlled. There are several reasons why this happens but the three main ones are hygiene, antibiotics and a weak immune system.
In women a good hygiene routine means washing the vagina properly and regularly. Wipe front to back so that any germs from the anus are not brought to the vagina. Avoid lots of scented products and very importantly dry properly. Some doctors also claim that unhygienic sex can be a factor too.
Antibiotics are taken to kill bacteria; bad ones that are causing some sort of illness. However when they are in your body they cannot tell the difference between bad bacteria and good bacteria, so they kill them all. The problem with this is that it was the good bacteria that was keeping the fungi under control and without it, the fungi can now grow.
A weakened immune system can happen for a variety of reasons such as hormonal changes like pregnancy or diseases like HIV or diabetes. A poor choice of diet can also be a factor in why an immune system is not working optimally.
When you visit a doctor they tend to prescribe a medication to treat the yeast infection, but this normally just helps with symptoms. These medications can also come with their own side effects, and as we now know antibiotics can be the cause of the problem not a cure. There are natural options available that are effective and do not come with side effects.
