Candida antigen wart treatment is actually derived from the candida that causes yeast infections. It is not the only antigen treatment, but is one of a few that are effective as wart treatment. The candida is not live, it is killed when the solution is prepared so there is no risk of developing a yeast infection internally or at the site of the injection. This candida antigen has in fact been used for around a quarter of a century all ready as a means to test a person’s immune system.
When the injection is given the immune system should react and the area should become red in a few a days. If it does not the doctor knows there is a problem with the patient’s immune system. Doctors have taken that action and realized that by stimulating the immune system in one small area they can remove things like warts. While the FDA has not approved candida antigen wart treatment doctors simply test the immune system at the site of a wart, with the effect then being that on many people this gets rid of it.
About warts
The most common sites that plantar warts appear are the feet and toes though this can then spread elsewhere as they are very contagious. Usually people pick them up walking bare foot in public areas that are damp like around pools. They can become quite painful to walk on and are identifiable by the black marks in the center of what otherwise resembles a corn or callus. There are a number of ways to treat them, burning or freezing, surgical removal, applying salicylic acid, laser treatment or immunotherapy this final option being what the candida antigen wart treatment comes under. The problem with other treatment methods is there can be several days of after care, a wound to look after, pain during treatment and scarring. The candida antigen wart treatment may be a painful injection depending on where the wart is, but after that there is no wound or after care. Let’s take a closer look.
How the candida antigen wart treatment works
When we have a wart the immune system does not spot it and so does not get rid of it for us. Therefore the idea of the candida antigen wart treatment is to stimulate the immune system in that specific area. The immune system responds to the injection by attacking the injected solution, and once there they then recognize that the wart should not be there and attack that too. Dr Jack Cohen explains the antigen is,
“…essentially using our own body’s defense to take care of it.”
Some side effects can happen though they are rare, a rash can appear at the site of injection, some have flu like symptoms, itching, and small blisters. It works best in young healthy patients and on warts caught early.
