Infant yeast infection
Many adults think incorrectly that yeast infections are grown up infections not infant. However, children can just as easily develop the conditions that candida loves. They do not just get Thrush (yeast infection of the mouth). Candida can multiply out of control in the young and lead to an infant yeast infection anywhere it is warm and wet.
Causes of Yeast Infections
Yeast infections happen when there is too much Candida yeast in your body and not enough good bacteria that kills it. Candida is a micro organism that is in your body naturally. Having the organism is not an issue, it is only a problem when it is able to grow and multiply out of control. The most common yeast infection occurs in the vagina though men can get it on the penis too.
Chronic Yeast Infection – Chronic Yeast Infections Generally
Unfortunately, there are many women who have the misfortune to have reoccurring yeast infections. This problem is known as a chronic yeast infection. Men can also get yeast infections passed from their sexual partner, sometimes with symptoms and sometimes without. For women they experience various uncomfortable and painful symptoms such as itching, swelling, redness, odor and vaginal discharge. The discharge is white or a pale yellow, usually odorless and has a cottage cheese like consistency. Male symptoms are a rash on the head of the penis and itching. Other not so common symptoms are bad breathe, fatigue, headaches, diarrhea, constipation, indigestion, mood swings, stomach pains and dizziness.
